Traffic and Parking Impacts for Pre-Cast Installation at Building #3, May 13-20
Due to the installation of the pre-cast panels at Building 3, the following traffic and parking impacts will occur. Please view a printer-friendly advisory with a map.
Traffic Control on Campus Drive East, May 13-15
- Beginning TUESDAY, May 13 through THURSDAY, May 15, there will be intermittent traffic control on Campus Drive East at Alvarado Row.
Traffic Control on Nathan Abbott Way at Galvez Mall and Lane A, May 15 - 20
- Beginning on Thursday, May 15 through Tuesday, May 20, there will be intermittent traffic control on Nathan Abbott Way at Lane A and Galvez Mall to accommodate pre-cast delivery trucks traveling to and from the Munger site.
Impacts to the Law School Service Vehicle Parking, May 15-16
- Beginning on Thursday, May 15 through Friday, May 16, there will be parking impacts to the three service vehicle parking spaces on the northeast side of the Law School loading dock.
Bowdoin Lane Closure, May 15-20
- Beginning Thursday, May 15 through Tuesday, May 20, Bowdoin Lane will be closed to vehicles between Arguello Mall and Galvez Mall. The sidewalk will remain open.
Construction Traffic Impacts on Bowdoin Lane, May 15-20
- Delivery trucks will be entering Bowdoin Lane from Campus drive east, resulting in increased truck traffic. Vehicles needing to access Galvez Mall should enter via Lane A to Nathan Abbott Way.
Please be cautious when traveling around construction sites and follow instructions of construction signage and traffic controllers.
Building Progress
- View a site map to see the layout of Buildings 1 – 5.
- Building 1:
- North Section: Placement of reinforcing steel and formwork for the forth floor deck is complete and the forth floor deck will be poured the week of May 15.
- South Section: Placement of reinforcing steel and formwork for the third floor deck is complete and the third floor deck will be poured the week of May 15.
- Building 2: Interior wall framing and installation of the interior plumbing, electrical and mechanical utilities are underway.
Pre-cast panels have been installed and installation of exterior windows is underway. Installation of the top floor steel structure is currently scheduled to be complete the week of May 15. .
- Building 3:Interior wall framing is underway and pre-cast panels are scheduled to be installed beginning on Tuesday, May 13 through Tuesday, May 20. View an advisory about parking and traffic impacts associated with this activity
- Building 4:
- East Section: Reinforcing steel and formwork for the second floor deck is underway.
- West Section: The first floor columns and sheer walls have been poured and placement of reinforcing steel and formwork for the slab on grade is underway.
- Building 5: The first floor columns and sheerwalls have been poured and the slab on grade is scheduled to be poured the week of May 12.
Advisories
Saturday, May 10, Work Activity at PS6 and Bowdoin Lane Closed*
- On Saturday May 10, there will be work activity at PS6 which will include preparing the subsurface for the landscape installation and pouring concrete for new sidewalk installation.
Bowdoin Lane will be closed between Arguello Mall and the Wilbur Service Road from 9:00am to 2:00pm to accommodate the sidewalk installation.
Service vehicles should access Stern Hall via Campus Drive East to Arguello Mall and Wilbur Hall via Campus Drive to Bowdoin Lane.
Vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians should follow posted detour signs. Please see the map below for details.
*The Bowdoin Lane closure was initially scheduled for Friday, May 9 and has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 10.
Building Progress
- Installation of the subsurface material for the landscape installation is being placed.
- The sidewalks are being installed along Arguello Mall and on Wilbur Way.
- Interior lights are being installed on the upper levels of the parking structure and painting is underway on the lower levels.
- The Wilbur Field underground parking structure is scheduled to open on May 20, 2008.
